This is the one picture I have of an ensemble that I had meant to put together for years and accidentally put together because "I had nothing to wear". Maybe next time I'll do it up on purpose!
It's my yellow kirtle without the bodies and an overgown that I ended up not wearing the sleeves for because it was so *bleepin'* hot. The whole idea was the everyday clothes of a working class woman; kirtle, gown, apron, caul, sun hat, belt with pouch, and a square of linen pinned across my shoulders to keep the sun off my delicate parts. One of my favorite things about this kit is the color combination. They are two of the colors you see in every lower class painting. Everyone could come by onion skins for yellow and madder for a reddish.
